I'm not as worried about your first time 4wd experience as I am your hiking experience. Beveridge is a remote ghost town, that requires hiking experience at high altitudes in thick brush. Even people that are in good shape and know what they are doing don't always make it to Beveridge the first time around. And, yes, we have had some early winter snows so this is something else to think about. You can only get to Beveridge on foot, by the way.
