Service Ministries

  • Do you pay bills online? Are you away from the parish during the summer and want to still support your parish? Consider automated donations giving. It is fast, convenient and safe. We are partnered with St. Mary’s Bank. 
    • With this secure, confidential donation method, parishioners can now establish their recurring offerings electronically with a direct debit from any bank account, checking or savings accounts from any financial institution may be used. You choose the offertory schedule that suits you weekly or monthly. Going away for the summer? This will give you the opportunity to still donate to the parish without having to remember to bring your envelopes and mail them to us. If you would like to take advantage of this convenient service, please let us know. There is a short form to sign and submit to the Church office. Once you have established your recurring electronic gift, the money will be automatically sent to the Church according to the schedule you selected.
       
  • The Welcome Committee welcomes and initiates new members to the parish community. 
     
  • The Social Committee provides opportunities for the parish to come together in the spirit of the Lord and friendship.  It organizes the monthly Sunday morning coffee, the parish picnic, etc. 
     
  • The Parish Beautification Committee organizes volunteers to help keep the property looking beautiful during the spring, summer and fall months.  Its goal is to keep the work to a minimum while keeping the property neat, clean and welcoming.
     
  • Shawl Ministry provides knitted and crocheted shawls and lap robes for those who are undergoing a medical procedure, recovering from surgery, suffering a serious or terminal illness, or experiencing a loss. It also provides shawls for celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, baptisms, anniversaries, etc. The shawls are made for the recipients in prayerful, meditative silence.  The group meets on Thursday mornings from 9:15 a.m.-11 a.m.  Anyone who is interested may call Diane Sufat, 625-8665.
     
  • The Youth Group is open to students in grades 5-12, and meets monthly for social and spiritual activities and community service.

     
    • The following services are offered to elderly persons:
  • support and counseling to those who have medical and human service needs.
     
  • social visits both in person and on the phone to those who are homebound or in health care facilities.
     
  • Holy Communion visits to sick and elderly persons in their homes weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, per request.
  • Funeral planners offer the services of the parish to assist the family in planning the funeral rites.
     
  • Funeral ministers assist at the Rite of Christian Burial as greeters, altar servers, lectors and extraordinary ministers of Communion.
     
  • Memorial Meal Committee provides a luncheon to family and friends of the deceased following a funeral.  Parishioners donate food, serve the meal, set up the hall and clean after the meal.
